UPenn Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology

Now this is a museum that I don't think many in the Philly area know about. It is located at the outskirts of UPenn's campus, right across the street from the stadium down there and right by CHOP. The courtyard entrance into the building is gorgeous, as seen below.

Once you enter, there are always 2 exhibitions at the foreground that are constantly changing. One of these currently is an anthropological study of the homeless and their addictions to heroin, specifically in the San Francisco area. Quite a touching and heartbreaking exhibition to view.

After you get through the ground floor, the next main area is the Egyptian exhibit. All I can say is WOW! For anyone who has any interest in ancient Egypt, this is definitely a MUST-VISIT! They have plenty of artifacts from this region include mummies and ancient statues.

There are plenty of other cultures covered throughout this museum such as Ancient Greece, Ancient Iraq, Asia, etc. I'd highly reccommend this trip for anyone with interest in those eras of the world.
