Colombian Grace
Quite a few blocks off Duval Street, but definitely worth the walk, is Colombian Grace, serving up traditional Colombian meals for dinner and brunch Saturday and Sundays.
For two people we ordered a variety of dishes to share, as suggested by our very helpful waitress. As an appetizer, we ordered the empanadas, one in beef and one in cheese. They were both delicious, but the cheese filled empanada was definitely my favorite. Biting through the light, crispy outside and into the warm, melty cheese was very delicious.
We also ordered the chorizo, which came with a corn cake and the fried plantain cakes. The corn cakes with melted cheese on top might be the best thing I've ever eaten (I know, I say that a lot). They are light, cheesy, and the perfect side dish to a meal at Colombian Grace. My only complaint is they're gone in two bites!
Lastly, we ordered the Petronia Chicken, which is chicken breast served in an orange juice, rosemary, and brandy glaze. This was sweet and tart at the same time, thanks to the sugar and citrus. But left each of us wanting to come back for another bite. It was served with white rice, which was also delicious in the sweet sauce.
Colombian Grace does take reservations, however, we were there on a busy weekend and the restaurant was busy (with a lot of locals and returning vacationers) not not as packed as those on Duval Street.
