Telfair Academy

For art fans visiting Savannah, the Telfair Academy should probably be one of the top stops on your trip.  For a $15 admission, you'll get access to this museum, plus the Jepson Center and the Owens-Thomas House.  The museum itself is inside of an old mansion that as a building stands on its own as an impressive piece of architecture.

There are various types of art inside, with the most prominent being American Impressionist paintings.  However, the real highlight is the original "Bird Girl" statue, from the cover of the book "Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil".  Due to the popularity of people visiting this statue when it was in it's original location at Bonaventure Cemetery, it has been moved here for visitors to enjoy without disturbing the burial grounds.
