Savannah History Museum

Attached to the main Visitor's Center of Savannah is the Savannah History Museum.  There is an abundant amount of free parking in their lot and it also serves as the main hub for the trolley companies to hop on and off their vehicles.

Inside the museum you'll find various exhibits about different portions of the city's history, from early colonial times to today.  One of the highlights is the bench that was used in the filming of Forrest Gump, where he sits waiting for the bus giving his life story to various residents.

You can also find located in the gift shop the Bird Girl statue that was used in the movie "Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil".  Keep in mind this is the one used in the movie, not the original from Bonaventure Cemetery.  The original is located in the Telfair Museum of Art.
