Smokey's at the Cove

We stopped at Smokey's at the Cove, located at Cove Bay, for lunch and were pleasantly surprised to find tables right on the beach, as well as very attentive staff.

Diners with small children can let the kiddo's play in the clean sand and the crystal clear water while waiting for lunch or dinner, or while the parents are enjoying beach-like adult drinks.

For lunch, we ordered the fish sandwich, which was the best fish sandwich I had had on the island. It came on perfectly soft bread with a nice chewy outside and the fish was cooked blackened with just a light breading. It was served with a salad and fries.

We also ordered a cheeseburger, which was a good size and cooked well and had a distinct taste of grill to it - which is exactly what I want when eating on the beach.

Johnno's Beach Bar

Johnno's Beach Bar, located at Sandy Ground, had a good reputation and is known for live jazz music on the weekends at lunchtime. While we almost drove past it, we were thankful that we found it. The location is right on the beach, just past the boat dock on Sandy Ground.

We ordered a round of rum punches - which were strong, refreshing and delicious - and lunch. During lunch, a live jazz band played, and locals and tourists streamed in and enjoyed drinks, snacks, meals and the music. We definitely recommend this place.

Da'Vida

We stopped at Da'Vida, on Crocus Bay, for afternoon drinks and were even more pleasantly surprised to find very comfortable lounge chairs out on the beach perfect for relaxing and enjoying a beverage.

At the lounge chairs, waiter service is available, however, payment is taken at the bar. There was live music on the stage in the afternoon and in the evenings. Floaters, kayaks, canoes and more can be rented from Da'Vida from the beach as well.

Da'Vida is definitely a little off the beaten path, so it's not as packed as some of the more popular beach bars like the ones on Sandy Ground.
