Ca' Momi

We dined at Ca'Momi, located at the Oxbow Public Market in Napa for dinner. We were looking forward to some delicious Italian food, and we definitely were satisfied.

The restaurant had very few tables and was very busy for dinner.

We ordered the Garganelli alla Panna, Prosciutto e Piselli (Penne with Italian cooked ham, peas, cream and parmigano reggiano) and the Bufala pizza (made with porchetta, sauteed spinach and buffalo mozzarella). Both were delicious and light and paired lovely with Ca'Momi winery wines.

You definitely need to make reservations in advance for Ca'Momi at Oxbow Public Market, but you won't regret it.

Bounty Hunter Wine Bar & Smokin' BBQ

There's nothing more intriguing to me than a combination wine bar and barbeque joint (and no two things I like more!), so, we had to check out Bounty Hunter Wine Bar & Smokin' BBQ in downtown Napa.

The place was packed, and they don't take reservations. However, we waited around and finally got a couple of seats at the bar.

We ordered the Smokin' BBQ Platter - pulled pork, brisket, ribs, coleslaw - and big enough for two or three people to share. There wasn't a bad item on the plate. The pork and brisket were both moist and wonderful, and the ribs incredibly meaty and tender - the meat fell right off the bone.

It was also served with a variety of sauces, so you could add as much or as little as you liked. I loved the spicy, while my dining partner enjoyed the sweet.

After a day of drinking wine, Bounty Hunter was a wonderful indulgence and funky atmosphere.

La Belle Époque

La Belle Époque is located in a perfect spot in downtown Napa, making it easy to walk to all the restaurants and stores downtown, but tucked away in a quiet corner. The building itself is a gorgeous Victorian. The room we had (the Zinfandel) had a very comfortable bed and was pretty spacious. The shower/jacuzzi was located separately from the sink and toilet, which made it quicker for two people to get ready in the morning.

The staff was very friendly and the breakfast they made each morning was absolutely delicious. In addition, there was always fresh baked goods, coffee, chocolates, and port and sherry out for guests. You also get sparkling wine presented in ice upon your arrival.

The wi-fi was very good and there was plenty of parking on the street available for the B&B. We'd definitely recommend this location for anyone staying in Napa.

Napa Valley Balloons

There are numerous hot air balloon company in the Napa Valley. We decided to go with Napa Valley Balloons for this iconic sunrise trip through the valley. It started with a simple coffee and pastry breakfast before sunrise at Domaine Chandon. Afterwards, we took a short shuttle bus ride to our balloon and were in the air for about an hour. It was a wonderful experience and the views of the vineyards, the sunrise, and the mountains, were gorgeous.

After our balloon ride, we were shuttled back to Domaine Chandon for a full buffet breakfast including mimosas. The staff were all very friendly and it was worth every penny.

Platypus Wine Tours

For our day exploring the wineries of Napa, we decided to use Platypus Wine Tours to take us around. This eliminated the need to drink and drive. The shuttle bus was very comfortable and the seats were laid out in a "U" shape making it easy for everyone to converse and get to know each other.

Our driver was very friendly and informative. She took us to Mumm Napa, Tudal Winery, Rutherford Ranch Winery (which included a chocolate tasting) and Razi Winery. All of the vineyards selected were very nice, and of course had great wine.

In addition, after the second winery, we had a really nice picnic lunch, provided by Platypus Wine Tours. This is definitely a service we would use again and would recommend to others.
