Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter Stargazing

The SkyCenter on top of Mt. Lemmon offers an amazing Stargazing experience. You'll be able to use professional telescopes to see various interstellar phenomenon. During our trip, we got to see Venus, Mars, Jupiter (including clearly seeing the red dot!), a nebula, a binary star system, the Sombrero galaxy, a beehive star cluster (my favorite!) and more! In addition, you are led by an expert from the University of Arizona to help you with the telescope.

Before night time, you also get to see the sun set from the top of the mountain, and learn about how you can see the Earth's shadow. It's truly an amazing experience.

Dinner is also provided. It's simple sandwiches, salads, and cookies.

If this is something you're planning on doing, make sure you make your reservation as far in advance as possible. If you wait to long, you probably won't be going. In addition, for the day of the experience, make sure you give yourself enough time to get to the top of the mountain (and time to enjoy the views during the drive up!). Also, when they say to dress warm, they mean it. It can get quite cold up there and you don't want to be stuck without warm clothing!
