Hampton Inn & Suites Cedar Rapids - North

We only had one night at the Hampton Inn & Suites Cedar Rapids - North and we got in pretty late that night after a flight, so we only spent about 10 hours at this hotel. Despite the short stay, we found it to be a pleasant experience for the most part. The staff we interacted with were pleasant. The room was comfortable and there was plenty of parking.

However, there was one issue we had. At the free breakfast in the morning, we found containers of milk that were several weeks expired. This is something that could be very dangerous to guests and the staff here needs to work to ensure only fresh milk is offered to guests.

Hampton Inn & Suites Baltimore Inner Harbor

The Hampton Inn & Suites Baltimore Inner Harbor is located about 5 minutes by foot from the Inner Harbor of Baltimore.  It's also about a 10 minute walk to Camden Yards.  This makes it an ideal location for leaving your car at the hotel and exploring a good amount of what Baltimore has to offer.

The rates offered by the hotel are typically reasonable, but definitely be aware of the $32/night charge for valet parking.  The valet service was excellent as all staff members we interacted with were very friendly and my car was always ready for me within the time promised (typically 10 minutes).

The rooms in the hotel were your standard Hampton Inn rooms, which were very clean with comfortable beds.  The bathroom was also larger than a standard hotel room.  Each morning, a complimentary breakfast was provided, which included eggs, sausage, french toast sticks, make-your-own waffles, cereal, muffins, bagels, etc.  The wi-fi that is included free of charge has good speeds and never caused us any issues.

This was definitely a hotel we'd recommend to anyone looking to explore this section of Baltimore.

Hampton Inn Gettysburg

We only got to spend one night at the Hampton Inn Gettysburg, as this was a last second, spontaneous trip to see Gettysburg National Park.  Upon arriving, the staff was friendly and the hotel was clean with plenty of parking.  The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable.

In the morning, a free breakfast was available, which was a nice bonus that we weren't even aware of as we booked this from the car while driving there.  We'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Gettysburg.  There may be some cheaper options out there, but from passing them on the road, they looked a bit undesirable, so it's worth it to pay the extra for this hotel.

Hampton Inn Alexandria

Hotel options are numerous in the Washington, D.C. area, and with that, the value, price range and location varies greatly.  You can spend a lot of money to stay within walking distance of all of the historic sites of DC, which is very valid for a lot of people and spend money parking at those hotels every day.  Or, you can find a great value right outside of DC such as the Hampton Inn of Alexandria, VA on Leesburg Pike.  

For just under $100/night (less than half of what you'd pay in downtown DC), you'll get a clean hotel with very friendly service.  They also offer a great breakfast with your stay each morning.  The one thing that might prevent people from staying here is the fact you'd then have to drive into DC each day, but the commute only takes 10 minutes and finding parking in DC is actually not that difficult as there are free lots by the Thomas Jefferson Memorial and free on-street parking on Sundays.

We'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the DC area and we'll definitely be back next time we're in the area.
